Down East Health Care, LLC provides services throughout Eastern North Carolina. Currently we have administrative offices in four counties; Beaufort, Halifax, Lenoir, Washington, and Craven Counties. Our main office is located in Beaufort County, at 124 South Market Street, Washington, NC; and we have offices located at 1124 Main Street, Scotland Neck, NC; 126 W. Lenoir Avenue, Kinston, NC; and 1255 Colony Drive, New Bern, NC. Down East Health Care, LLC is accredited through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, and through the North Carolina Council of Community Programs. |

Down East Health Care is designed to provide individualized quality services and supports to participants within an appropriate time frame, as prescribed by the treatment plan, and utilizing cost effectiveness. This agency's activities will be conducted in a manner that exceeds the participant’s expectations and provides expertise in the area of service delivery. DEHC provides individuals and their families with the care and compassion needed in an effort to overcome and adapt to physical, social and emotional impairments. |

| Our Philosophy | |
| The person-centered plan and active participation is the guide for teaching and training. Established since 1997, we have built our reputation on delivering quality health care. We provide a setting to promote self confidence and self-actualization by using positive reinforcement, redirection, gentle teaching and modeling to give the participant personal responsibility for making choices for healthy living. A supportive, normalized environment by community-base service providers affords participants the opportunities for socialization, self-advocacy, and enjoyment of life. DEHC provides participants with exposure to new and exciting experiences designed to promote independent living skills, a reduction in socially-unacceptable behaviors that prevent individuals from functioning in a community setting, and the development of competencies and natural supports needed for normalization. Our participants work with staff that is responsible for getting to know the participant and establishing a trusting relationship. We request that staff support our participants to form an effective bridge to local community resources or assist the participants to maintain continuity in positive directions. |
